Does anyone know of a college athlete, (preferably basketball and football) that has left the NCAA to go pro because of their family being in poverty. I need this for a paper I am writing. I’ve searched everywhere online but I cant find any examples. I know it happens constantly, I just can’t think of the names. If anyone knows an article could you also give me the link to that.
Thank you for your time.
I know they have full scholarships so they don’t need the money most of the time. But they might leave in order to help their struggling family members.
i think deuce latui left usc early cuz his dad needed surgery and his family was poor and his dad was disabled when he deuce and his younger daughter were in car accident the girl didn’t survive so he left early cuz he wanted to help asap

Im a senior in high school and i was too scared to go out for the teams, i knw i have skill and i probably wont be able to make a college team because i am going to a community college, so is there a chance i could be able to get a chance as a pro?
Baseball routinely drafts hi schoolers but they usually have to start in the minor leagues for several years.
I know of only a few football or basketball stars.

I think it is a tie btw Kentucky & South Carolina- no matter where you go in those states you see people where Clemson/ USC and UK/ U of L stuff everywhere. Cars in those states also become bill boards for their favorite college teams
I am from Louisville and I would have to say South Carolia is a second to Kentucky. Not only do we have two great basketball programs the Uof L football team will be in the top 5 in the country. The season tickets for UK and UL are all sold and they have been handed down for years. DOWNSIDE……UofL lets season ticket holders sit next to the court for basketball so old people who dont really get into the game sit there and leave early. UK can be the same.

Preferably football or basketball. Do you have to go to college for that? This would be a dream job for me so any help would be very helpful.
As with most jobs it’s not what you know, it’s WHO you know. Hang out at practices. Try to meet coaching staff. See if there’s a job available within the sports organization – any job.
Most importantly, follow your dream. Your passion will be evident, and people will respond to that.
