I’m not referring to a scholarship, but in general if you are on a college sports team at a varsity level(not club or intramural), does the college take care of expenses such as traveling?

If you’re playing on a varsity sports team at college they take care of travel and lodging expenses related to your competition stuff. Scholarships take care of school expenses. You may have to buy/provide your own equipment (to a point) depending on the team and level of play. Other than that all your expenses should be paid.
