Does smoking affect your fitness if you train and do sports?
I play footie and do boxing and train and think I’m fit enough. I smoke about 15 a day for the last 3 years and am nearly 18 now and it doesn’t seem to be a problem.
Then it isn’t a problem for you. What it does is reduce your wind, probably more important for a runner or swimmer than a boxer.

Just wait until you start coughing up blood because of lung cancer.
15 a day is heavy smoking and it will make you stink.
Have you any idea how badly you smell to non-smokers?

But just think how much more fit you would be without the handicap that smoking is placing on you!
Plus the benefits of a healthier future life. Not to mention a better complexion. And the savings you will make.

yes. It’s bad no matter what. Just cuz you excersize, it’s still bad for your lungs. Smoking actually slows you down on your boxing and everything else. It’s so unhealthy I can’t even tell you. I’m not telling you to do this, but I recomend quiting. You will die sooner if you smoke.

Yes, it does. Smoking affects the ability of oxygen to bind with iron in your blood. The result is that you don’t have as much stamina. If you quit smoking, you will be able to play longer and stronger.

yeah i smoke too but not 15 a day. i can see it has affected my overall stamina and fitness, since i play tha same sports, its not reccomended. but eh who cares if u aint gonna be a pro boxer or anything who cares. just dont get over 15 a day else ya might loose it all. but it does affect oxygen levels in your muscles, therefor it may affect your speed and power.

Regardless of the research and "University of Pennsylvania" crap you read online, I can tell you from experience that smoking does NOT affect your fitness levels whatsoever.
I dont deny its bad for you, its just that being a smoker will not stop you from being "Stronger, Fitter, Faster or even "Healthier".
I was once an intense bodybuilder and a non smoker. Then I lit that bad boy ciggy and carried on my exercise as normal, The question is: Did it affect my performance? Nope! Did I lose muscle? Nope! Did I feel breathless or unfit because of the smoking? Nada!
Being breathless is when your lungs is trying to catch up with you, it happens to ALL non smokers.
I have become much stronger and developed a greater sense of well being ever since then.
Cancer is my only concern but everything else i dont worry about and neither should you!
