How tough is the british army fitness regime in relation to professional sports?

it apears that mark who answered the last question has probably never been in the british army.as i have.
there is a world of difference between professional sports training and british army training.
lets not forget that almost all army units around the world bais thair training on the british army’s.
army training is to create a compatent willfull soldier in the wright frame of mind. this envolves endurance training, cardiovascular, and heavy lifting. the goal is not to have a heavy brute soldier who cannot run,it is to get an exceptionally strong soldier that can lift his own bodyweight with ease and run for many miles with lots of weight.
allot of this training is to do with the mind as well as the body, and if the mind is willing the body will be to.

    Not even close.

    On a scale of 1 to 10.

If professional sports were a 10.

Regular military fitness would be a 3.

Units like SAS and SBS would be a 6 or 7.

You have to remember, professional sports athletes may spend up to 8 hours a day in physical training.

Where members of the military spend 30 mins to an hour.
